Masuma Jariwala, comes from the land of Mahatma Gandhi. She resides in Rajkot city of Gujarat State in India. Known for its fine craftsmanship in gold and silver jewellery, precision engineering parts and sweets like `peda’ (milk cake) and `chiki’ (made of jaggery or sugar)-Rajkot is a city where Mahatma Gandhi underwent his primary education.
A Journalist and lecturer by profession, she loves visiting different places, meeting people from different walks of life, learning new culture and traditions. She holds a Masters Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication and also a Masters Degree in Commerce with specialization in Business Management.
Her career began with print media in The Times of India in 1998, followed by The Indian Express in 2002. Apart from print media she was also fortunate to work with electronic media- Asian News International (ANI) as a Bureau Chief. Working with SAP Media in Mumbai for three magazines: International Aerospace, Ambrosia and Asian Photography gave her an International exposure of covering world’s largest Photography exhibition in Colon, Germany, Airport Shows in Dubai and other shows in India.
Married for past four and a half years, Abbas (Computer Engineer), her better half, has always been a great support and helped her in moulding her career. New avenues awaited after the birth of her daughter Zahabiya , who is now three year old. After gaining years of experience in main stream journalism and B2B magazines, she currently works as a professor to impart journalism and mass communication education to the students of Gardi Vidhyapith.
Keep learning, Keep observing, Keep teaching and Keep going are the four axis on which her life revolves. She relishes good and healthy food, love nature, admires man made creations and dream to go on a world tour. After all, Life is a vacation granted by God, Let’s Enjoy it!
